Legal Internship Program

Capital City Law proudly supports a paid legal internship program at its downtown Raleigh location. Legal interns that participate in our program receive an agreed-upon amount for their work at our Firm over the course of a set period of time (usually a semester). Their work includes legal research, client intake and correspondence, drafting legal documents, and more. For those interns interested in opening their own practice, they also receive exposure to various topics in law practice management such as policies, procedures, and technology.  See below for a list of our current internship openings.

Capital City Law is currently interviewing 2L and 3L candidates for two internship positions at for the Fall 2015 semester (August 24th – December 4th). We are a small general practice law firm made up of young attorneys, offer a relaxed and friendly work atmosphere, and are located in downtown Raleigh (within easy walking distance to Fayetteville street and all courthouses). We were once unpaid legal interns ourselves and choose to break with that unpaid tradition. Instead, both CCL interns will be paid a stipend for their work at the end of the internship period. We will work around class time and other school responsibilities to determine work schedules on a case-by-case basis.

Our interns will work with all members of the firm and be exposed to a wide variety of practice areas and will assist our attorneys in both litigation and transactional matters. The position responsibilities include the following and more: research legal issues and draft memoranda for attorneys, assist in drafting various contracts and pleadings, participate in client interviews and case evaluations, and assisting our attorneys with various filings, discovery matters, and litigation issues as such events occur. For those interns interested in opening their own law firm, s/he will also receive exposure to various elements of law practice management.
