Marti Hampton: Determination + Passion = Success or Do Better, Be Better and Serve Batter
“I came from humble beginnings, but the desire to provide for my children gave me great courage, determination and motivation. I knew it would take hard work, long hours, boundless energy, but the love of family, and the desire to succeed kept me going. I still have the same passion and love of the business that has given me so much! My mantra is “You can always Do Better, Be Better, and Serve Better”.
When Marti Hampton first started as a Triangle Realtor, she had nothing and knew very few people. As a single parent, with no supporting income, no sphere of influence, very little credit, and a clunker for a car, all Marti had was a strong work ethic, grateful heart and appreciation of the American Dream. She believed her opportunity to care for her family and serve the community would be achieved with a career in residential real estate.
Marti’s vision, determination and passion fueled a total Triangle Real Estate volume of over $100 billion. Last year, her volume was $120 million. Marti has been the recipient of over 50 different prestigious awards, including multiple awards for being the #1 RE/MAX Team in the US, #3 RE/MAX Team in the World, multiple Diamond Club Awards and continuous ranking as a Top Agents in the US. Hampton has also earned the RE/MAX Circle of Legends, Hall of Fame, Lifetime Achievement, and Luminary of Distinction Awards. Marti Hampton has also been listed as “The Most Powerful Women in Real Estate” in the National Relocation & Real Estate Magazine and has been designated as a finalist for Inman’s “Innovator of the Year Award” for her Coming Soon platform & national web site.
Marti is very passionate about helping buyers and sellers succeed in the ever changing, fast paced world of residential real estate. She is also passionate about giving back to the community. Local charities are very near to her heart. Some of the charities she has supported are the United Veteran’s Corp, Frankie Lemmon Foundation, Beads of Courage, First in Families, Miracle Jump Start, Passage Homes, Autism Society, Children’s Miracle Network, and House of Hope.
Marti still loves to see the relief and joy on a seller’s face when close on their house , and the buyer’s eyes light up when they receive the keys to their new home. Her continual pursuit of excellence propels her success. “I want Sellers and Buyers to walk away remembering what a great experience they had with my Team. I want them to have the confidence to refer their friends and family to experience the same successful outcome.”
Marti is passionate is excelling at marketing and technology. “I am in the business of doing it differently; I have a different way of looking at things. We, as agents, have to think bigger and better, stay ahead of Real Estate trends and be up to speed on the newest technology.”
Marti is very proud and totally invested in her Coming Soon Home platform. She is growing and expanding it in multiple cities and states, making it available for other agents to use in their marketing tactics. “These partnerships are beneficial to our sellers, bringing in relocation referrals to our area.” Her website, ComingSoonHomesTriangle.com, also benefits home buyers by showing them homes that are preparing to enter the market in the next week or next month.
The best advice Marti can give to an up and coming Top Producer is “Don’t just think big…Think bigger! Real estate is constantly changing. Crack the code on Internet buyers and sellers, go where they are. As an industry, we need to respond to Internet leads in a more compelling way. If you are new, work with someone really good, a mentor, or an Industry Leader and practice loyalty. Don’t get stale and continue to grow and expand.”
When Marti isn’t working, and she is always working, she enjoys traveling, exercising, nutrition, music, and spending time with her family. She has three of her own children, who live out of state. Six children through marriage, two are in the business with her, Paul Cardon and Kim Harrison, and thirteen grandchildren. Her husband, Marvin is retired and loves to build and remodel homes.
Above all of her successes, Marti wants to be remembered for being a good mom and a good wife. She loves her children and friends, taking care of her parents, and as she puts it, “Being a good wicked step-mother!”
