These Terms of Use are an agreement between Capital City Law (“us, “we”, or “Capital City Law”) and all users of this site (“you” or “visitor”) and governs your use of capitalcitylawnc.com (hereinafter, “Website”) and its associated content including text, images, downloadable files, and digital information stored within regardless of form including information accessible on subdomains of the website (collectively, its “Content”), and email correspondence with Capital City Law (“Email”). By accessing this Website or its Content you agree to all terms contained herein. Your continued access and use of the Website constitutes your agreement to the Terms of Use in effect at the time of your access and use.
1. No Attorney-Client Relationship
Your use of this Website does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Capital City Law. This limitation includes information submitted through our online contact and consultation request forms. If you need immediate legal assistance, we strongly recommend that you contact our office (or the office of another attorney) by phone to arrange for a meeting.
2. Legal Services Offered
Capital City Law maintains this Website to inform you and other potential clients of the legal service we offer. Our attorneys are licensed in the State of North Carolina and Commonwealth of Virginia. Therefore, any offers to provide legal services are restricted, as necessary, to those jurisdictions.
3. Submissions through Website Forms, Email Correspondence
A. Presumption of Confidentiality
All data submitted through its online forms, by email, or otherwise, are treated as confidential but subject to the following limitations: (1) prospective clients should be aware that our duties of confidentiality and the attorney-client privilege may not arise until a representation agreement is reached between you and Capital City Law, and (2) we will run an immediate conflict check, and update that conflict check throughout the course of relationship (whether an attorney-client relationship exists, or not) when you provide us with additional information on your matter through the Website or Email.
B. Data Encryption
Capital City Law may communicate with you by email, and utilizes a third-party email provider to ensure emails are encrypted at all times while stored on our web server and that any outgoing emails containing Private Personal Information are delivered to you in an encrypted fashion. However, we cannot force your email provider to send Private Personal Information to us in an encrypted fashion. Therefore, Capital City Law expressly disclaims responsibility for any material transported by unencrypted methods to our Website or Email.
C. Other Client Records
Capital City Law maintains records of all Website, Email, and Client communications for a period of six (6) years, or longer. All communications and digital records are encrypted while in transit and at rest. Client record-keeping is addressed in our Standard Terms of Representation, which is provided with your representation agreement at the time legal services are agreed upon.
4. Website Environment
Our Website, and its associated content, is hosted on a third-party server. All information contained herein remains the sole property of Capital City Law, with the following exception:
You are the owner of all information you submit through our Public Website Access or Secure Client Portal. At any time, you may request that we remove any information you have submitted or modified through our website. We reserve the right to keep a copy of such information for archival purposes and to comply with our ethical obligations as attorneys.

Capital City Law claims copyright protection on all of the content provided in this website. The content from this website may not be reproduced, copied and/or redistributed in any form without the express permission of Capital City Law.
